This is a tragic loss.For anyone to pass away at sucha a young age unexpectedly is so sad to hear.
Dj AM in my eyes was someone who had the most creative mixing style of this decade for sure,he would drop all sorts of tracks mixed ina way only Am could deliver.
I only really came across Am's myspace a short period before he hooked with Travis Barker to do the tour and live dates together. I live in the Uk though so i guess you can understand why i was a little late to discover such an unbelieveable Dj.
Over @ Missinfo.Tv you can hear Dj Premier talking about he'd only spoke to AM the night Before and they were planning on doing shows together.
I think what Diplo has said is touching to hear and very sad, he expressed his feelings about Dj Am very personally and shows how Am truly was a pioneer in playing underground artists,such as Diplos Beats and making them known and liked.
My thoughts go out to his family and friends at this tough time.

and in a world that doesnt really seem to care about you – promotors, fareweather friends, rich assholes, alcholics, trendsters…. AM carved a whole pie out of it and built a giant empire that little of you even know about. He never ever ever didnt have time to talk to one of his dj homies, each and every one of the small wannabes like me still spoke to him still weekly. How many people do u know DJ wedding partys for billionaires, arenas for Jay z, and djs for roctakons shitty basment party in manhattan for free and then 20 k the next night.. each day he was still asking me for new music and tellin me how the wierdest of my tracks were starting to pick up momentum….. but.. i never knew how long it would last.
Djs have a ceiling, and Am lived on the roof. he sometimes would tell me a bit about his reservations in passing about his lifestyle and i feel like its a loveless place we all live in (DJs). but i dont think We will ever see another person built for it like AM.. he was THE Michael Jackson of this shit. so it really worries me a bit that hes gone , cause hes the only that i thought understood it all… he was a sweetheart and tried his damnest to be the best at it and still be the best at being himself

I never actually got to see him but thanks to youtube i can watch anytime. One video particular i liked was on where he dropped an absolute filthy favourite of mine TC - Wheres My Money (Jack Beats Re-Edit). This is what diplo means by ahead of his time and way out there.
Dropping this tune then mixing it into an old school swing classic you got balls man, and a diverse music taste and love for music.
